Region President Sandy : Something different this year instead of the usual Rose Bowl Challenge! In line with my theme of collaboration and longterm impacts, I asked our South Lancashire clubs to join in a collective project. I hoped a pledge of £20 would meet with approval. It did! So the donations have now been match-funded, as agreed, by our Regional executive team.
Together at a Region meeting we chose entrepreneurs through the charity LendwithCare and have set up loans towards their small businesses. Already some instalments for the loans are being repaid.
In recognition of the collaborative nature of this year’s challenge, the beautiful rosebowl will be on display at each Region meeting for the next year for all to see.
Collaborate and plant the trees under whose shade we will not sit !

Region President Pam linked her challenge to her theme ‘Rise Up and Roar’.
Clubs were invited to describe how they have, indeed, risen up and roared. Community action? What Soroptimists stand for? Publicity initiatives? No holds barred! And the winners were … SI Manchester. Region President Pam presented the trophy to SI Manchester President Carole at the Region’s autumn meeting.
