SI Poole has had a Friendship Link with SI Kathmandu since 2012 and since the earthquakes last year we have been doing as much as we can to support Nepal. We have sent funds on several occcasions, direct to their bank account in Kathmandu, and now we are focussing on providing warm hats and blankets for babies.
We sent a small number of hats last month, to see if they would get there safely – and they arrived in just over a week!
That gave us the confidence to continue, and on Friday 8th April a group of SI Poole members gathered to work on sewing up the hats and piecing together the squares into blankets. We would like to thank SI Bournemouth for contributing lots of hats and knitted squares!
Our sewing session was a lot of fun! As well as being very productive, we put the world to rights and had a lot of laughs. Real Programme Action and Friendship!
