New SIGBI statue at the National Memorial Arboretum

We are delighted with our new statue at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire which has recently been installed.

The COVID-19 pandemic meant that the original unveiling event, planned for November 2020, could not go ahead, so a low-key installation attended by four members took place.  Another event to celebrate the statue being installed is planned for when restrictions in the UK relax further.

There is a QR code on the base of the statue telling people about Soroptimism, the work we do and celebrating our 100 years. The train that takes visitors around the National Memorial Arboretum now goes past our plot and the commentary talks about Soroptimists and our purpose and achievements.

The National Memorial Arboretum is now open to (pre-booked) visitors so please do take a trip to visit our plot.
