Billingham and Stockton Food Bank July
The club has continued to support our local food bank on a monthly basis. We also had a very interesting talk by the manager who explained how the food bank operates.
Purple Rose
Susan Mansaray gave the club a talk about her charity Purple Rose, set up to help asylum seekers in the Stockton area. Members have since donated clothing, household items and toys.
Billingham and Stockton Borough Food Bank
We have begun the new club year with more donations to our local food bank. The use of food banks has increased as a result of the pandemic, fuel and food price increases etc.
Teesside Hospice Donation
In December President Chris presented a cheque for £600 to Teesside Hospice from the club.
New Start Bags – the final batch
We were given funds by our local police and crime commissioner to provide new start bags containing basic items of clothing, toiletries etc for victims of trafficking. The last eight bags were collected in December
Supporting the Stockton and Billingham Food Bank
Since April we have supported our local Food Bank every other month. Members have contributed items or donated money to the lady who coordinates the delivery. We liaise with the food bank manager to establish which items they particularly need. In December we donated £100 towards their Christmas hampers.
Rainbow Room – Christmas 2021
Since April we have continued to support the Rainbow Room at North Tees hospital by delivering items such as speciality teas and coffees, chocolates and biscuits, toiletries etc on alternate months to those when we donate to the local food bank.
