Members and guests enjoyed a great Christmas party. We welcomed members from SI Stafford and enjoyed playing Musical Bingo. We also presented Tamworth Hygiene Bank with the items members have collected over the last couple of months. Marie Ballard, Project Co-ordinator said “These will make such a difference to our local community and are very much appreciated.”

On Sunday 8 December we held our annual Human Rights Lunch. This is a frugal lunch to raise awareness of our international projects. Thank you to Maureen Turfrey and the International Team for another great get together for our Human Rights Lunch. We raised over £272.50 for the Soroptimist International Foundation. This currently has two international projects running. One is for the education of women and girls from or in war-torn countries. The other is for public speaking competitions aimed at empowering girls and enhancing their communication skills. For more information please see:- https://www.soroptimistinternational.org/soroptimist-international-foundation/

Members have been collecting items for our local Hygiene Bank. On World Kindness Day, 13 November President Lyn met with Marie Ballard of Tamworth Hygiene Bank to hand the items and also a cheque for the organisation to provide additional items.     This photograph shows President Lyn handing over the cheque to Marie Ballard of Tamworth Hygiene Bank, with other Club members holding bags with some of the items. For obvious reasons the handover was out of doors, with social distancing.
