2017 Providing emergency food, care and support to those in need throughout the community of Torquay

http://torquaycommunitylarder.org.uk/

Torquay Community Larder is open between 10am and 2pm on Mondays and Fridays at the Salvation Army Hall.  They are open to provide emergency food provision to people experiencing food poverty.

The Torquay Community Larder exists because poverty exists in our community.  Their long term aim is to provide support solutions that encourage and enable those that use their service to not only engage with them but to also engage with other support agencies in the community.  Their hope is  to build relationships with their guests and as they journey with them, they will start to get to the root cause of their poverty and eventually see them become self-sufficient and able to support themselves once again.

Recently members paid a visit to the larder with a view to volunteering, and after a tour of the facilities returned a week later to enjoy a meal at their Tuesday Luncheon Club.  Members are now assisting at the trolley run next Friday at Tesco Metro, Torquay.
