Soroptimist International of Tynedale is situated in the beautiful Tyne Valley in Norhumberland. The principal market town is Hexham, famous for its Abbey and a convenient base for visits to nearby Hadrian’s Wall and the Kielder Forest. One of the youngest clubs in the Soroptimist Region of Northern England, established 24 years ago, we have made our mark internationally through the ” Reaching Out” project supporting education opportunities in Northern Ghana. This project received the Globalisation and Poverty International Award at the Sydney Soroptimist International Convention. At regional level, the club works with the Salvation Army providing comfort bags for trafficked women and responds to regional calls for action on important issues including the Violence Against Women End It Now campaign. As well as supporting international and regional projects, we are active in upholding the needs of our local community. Projects we support regularly include
