On December 14th 2015 members of SI Wigan and friends attended the Christmas meal at Haigh Hall ,it was a lovely evening with the Hall beautifully decorated for Christmas. The meal was followed by the quiz complied by SI Wigan member Joan Pye which was as challenging as usual but great fun. Money raised from the quiz and raffle will go towards the Presidents Charity Mary’s meals and SI Wigan’s chosen charities.

SI Wigan support the Brick Homeless Centre throughout the year, at Christmas members and friends donate shoe boxes with toiletries and small gifts.This year the total number of boxes donated was 53. The boxes are given out in the run up to Christmas to men, women or families.

The SI Wigan Young Achiever Award for 2015 was given to Jessica Burnett on December 4th at Wigan Town Hall by the Mayor Sue Loudon. Also present were Ade Kolade her sponsor and members of SI Wigan including President Sue Doyle and Reverend Pauline Makin who leads and coordinates the award committee.Jess was nominated for the award for demonstrating persistence and drive to excell in her studies.  

In November SI Wigan held a Lancome Beauty Evening for members and friends at Haigh Hall which was supported by the staff from the Lancome Beauty Department at Debenhams Wigan. The evening was a great success and a fantastic prize of beauty gifts and perfume was donated by Lancome for the SI Charity Ball which will be held on March 12th at the DW Stadium Wigan click here for details of the Ball

In October 2015 SI Wigan and Rotary International of Wigan handed over the final sleeping bags for 2015 to Trish Green Manager of the Brick Homeless Centre Wigan. In total 70 sleeping bags have been jointly donated this year this was kindly supported by the management of Go Outdoors.

On September 21st 2015 SI Wigan held the annual Award Evening to celebrate the work of some of the charities that are supported and the fundraising work of the members. The event was well supported by members and friends who enjoyed a meal with representatives of the charities at Haigh Hall.
