For several years SI Winchester has organised a picnic in June for the families at the local refuge. As a consequence of Covid restrictions, early in the year, the 2021 picnic was held in September. As always members donated tasty picnic food, which was set out in the shade since we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day. Four residents and nine children spent a splendid afternoon chatting and getting involved in a variety of activities. Indeed when it came time to go back, everyone was reluctant to leave. Once again huge thanks go to the chaplain and girls of St Swithuns School for their organisation and support. We were delighted afterward to receive a communication from the Refuge saying how much all the families had appreciated the afternoon.
