June is SANDS (Stillbirth and neonatal death charity) Awareness Month
June 1-7 – Volunteers Week – we will be thinking of the wonderful volunteers we know and work with in the wider Woking area
June 1 – International Children’s Day
A key date for the United Nations: World Environment Day A day when we encourage worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. Since 1974, the day has been marked by special events. Over 100 countries will be involved this year.
June 5/6 – The Big Lunch – we’ll be celebrating community connections!
June 14-18 – Loneliness Awareness Week (Marmalade Trust) – we mustn’t forget to look after each other as we emerge from the pandemic
June 15-20 – Cervical Screening Awareness Week – so important for women!
June 16 – World Refill Day – choose to reuse
June 20 – World Refugee Day
June 23 – International Women in Engineering Day AND World Female Ranger Day – launching this year, more at How Many Elephants
June 26 – International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

Global Club Links
Our Club is part of the worldwide network of Soroptimist International. This non-political organisation takes a firm stance on a number of subjects relating to women and girls (more at National Federation, SIGBI).
SI Woking & District cooperates with the other clubs in the Southern Region of Soroptimist International of Great Britain & Northern Ireland, and has Friendship Links with the Soroptimist Clubs of SI Durban and SI Pretoria Tshwane in South Africa.
