The Club Programme, in line with all Soroptimists Clubs in our Federation, operates from April to April.
All club meeting unless otherwise specified, are held at the Manor Hotel, Yeovil, commencing at 6.30p.m with a light meal.
Within the South West & Channel Islands we have 18 Clubs which form the Region Council. As a Region we meet 4 times each year at a venue in Taunton.
A number of speakers and visits are in the process of being confirmed and will be posted when finalised.
Club Programme 2023-2024
March 26th. Time to reflect and plan! Together with our Region Membership Officer, we considered how we can engage with more women who share our hope of improving the future for women and girls and encourage them to join us. We can build on the past and look positively towards the future.
March 8th – International Womens Day. Three Members celebrated the day by offering a gift of spring flowers to women out and about in Yeovil Town Centre. This was also and opportunity to tell them about our global organisation – EDUCATING, EMPOWERING & ENABLING women and girls across the world.
November 25th Members recognised the UN Day for the Elimination of all Forms of Violence Against Women. We raised awareness of this continuing issue with a stand in the Quedam, Yeovil. Orange shoes will be displayed, each shoe acknowledging the death of a woman or girl to domestic or relationship murder in the past year.
We were joined by the former Mayor of Yeovil, Evie Potts. A local radio blogger joined us and included our event in his blog and a photograph and article was published in a local paper. The shoes were then displayed with our posters in the Art Centre in the shopping centre where they will remain until the new year.

2024 Happy New Year!
February 13th Club meeting. This will be a busy agenda, dealing with club and regional business and starting to plan for the change of officers at our AGM in April.
