Teddy bears picnic / treasure hunt. A fund raiser and all teddies were given to local dementia units. Purchased the construction of a well in Cambodia so that families can benefit from a clean water well that we have funded. This ensures their future health. We have now bought four wells. Each year some of the members attend the Llangollen eisteddfod and promote the work of Soroptimists in our tent. Ciss and Enid regularly went on our behalf. Summer supper is a fund raising event for Ty Gobaith  organised by Jenny and Vicki. Jenny also had a plant sale. Festival 6 – members collect discarded items which include Tents: Sleeping Bags; Insulating Mats; Camping chairs; Tent Pegs and a large amount of food. As much as we can carry. Everything that is collected is taken to St Mary’s hostel for the homeless in Bangor. Seize the sandwich

SI Bangor have again raised money for a family in Cambodia to have their own well. This was constructed by the Cambodian Community Dream Organisation and completed in March 2017. The family will share their water with others in their village.

Members of SI Bangor and District have donated three sewing machines, tools and a pair of crutches to the charity Tools for Self Reliance Cymru The items will be taken to Crickhowell where volunteers will check and refurbish them before being stored. Once enough items have been collected they will be transported to Tanzania for distribution. Then they will  be used to set up businesses which will generate work and an income in various communities. http://www.tfsrcymru.org.uk/

A few of our ladies visited Festival Number 6 after everyone had gone home to collect abandoned tents and food donations from vendors. The ladies only came away with one tent due to the muddy conditions but two carloads full of food and soft drinks. This was all then donated to the Homeless Shelter in Bangor where it was gratefully received.
