28 June 2019 – Meru Women’s Garden Project

Did you know that the £150,000 target for this project has been exceeded, three months ahead of the end of the Project. This is a brilliant result from everyone’s fund raising and will make so much difference to the women of Meru and their families.

We are into the final months of supporting this project which will present a final report in October.

12 June 2019 – Congratulations

Soroptimists are delighted to congratulate Leyla on receiving an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for her tireless work in campaigning against FGM.

Leyla Hussein OBE is a Somali-born British psychotherapist and social activist. She is the founder of Dahlia project, one of the co-founders of the Daughters of Eve non-profit organization and a Chief Executive of Hawa’s Haven.

Soroptimists have been working with and supporting Leyla for sometime so we are all looking forward to welcoming her as a speaker at the Conference in Bournemouth on Saturday 26 October 2019
