Soroptimist International - Bristol

Soroptimist International of Bristol is part of a worldwide organisation of women, which is linked to the United Nations.

Welcome to SI Bristol

Soroptimist International (SI) Bristol is part of a global organisation of women from a wide variety of backgrounds, whose common aim is to improve the lives of women and children worldwide through Education, Empowerment and Enablement. Members of SI Bristol (currently 35 in number) are active in local communities both individually and collectively.

For SI Bristol, 2020-2021 is not just a new year, nor a new decade, it is a new century. It is also, thanks to coronavirus, a new challenge. As we start the year in lock-down, we use use email and video conferencing as a substitute for our usual meetings. If you would like to find out more, please contact us at, follow us on Facebook (Soroptimist Bristol) or on Twitter (@si_bristol). Once we can resume face-to-face meetings you can contact us to arrange a visit on the 2nd or 4th Monday evening of each month.

The theme for this year continues from last year’s and is “Looking further for Well-being “. This fits nicely with the two charities SI Bristol is supporting during 2019-2021, which are:

  • The National Centre for Integrative Medicine, based in Bristol and offers a variety of therapies to help people improve their lives.
  • Lifeskills-Learning for Living, Bristol’s unique safety education centre base in the Create Centre.

The global S.I. organisation has representation at the United Nations concerning issues relating to women and children worldwide. Please look at the Programme Action section of our website to understand fully the wide variety of activity undertaken both locally and nationally. We also enjoy social events including outside speakers, lunches and suppers, theatre visits and much more.

If you would like to find out more please contact us and arrange a visit on the 2nd or 4th Monday evening of each month.
