World Book Day – Thursday March 7th
On World Book Day we attended Brigh Beginnings Children’s Centre. Children were able to choose a book to take home thanks to all the donations of books we had collected. Cathy and Shirley also read stories to the pre-school group and took part in the Library’s STOP DROP and READ which was part of the Year of Reading.
On the Saturday following World Book Day we had an amazing BIG BOOK GIVEAWAY at the St Peter Port Constables Office in Lefebre Street.
We had collected a considerable amount of books over the past two years, and the large table enabled books to be displayed easily. About 2000 books were taken home by families who came to visit.
