Photography Competition – Winner Announced

We recently held a very successful photographic competition. The theme was Lockdown Lens, with photographers invited to record an image of their lockdown experience. Entries included beautiful scenes from walks, projects undertaken, clever images that evoked the emotions of being locked down, plus of course some quirky shots that made the judges smile. Choosing from a shortlist, President Deena selected ‘Sheepish’ by Richard Simpson as the worthy winner. Richard is a keen runner and chose a prize of a £50 voucher for County Sports to use on some trainers.

The funds from the entry fees are being used to print greetings cards of this charming image of a flock of sheep taken on a walk near Broad Haven. The cards are available for £6 for a pack of 5, or two packs for £10, all proceeds will go to the group’s charitable projects. You can support Soroptimists by buying a pack from any member; they are also available at Window on Wales, Solva and St Davids, Coronation Chippy, Haverfordwest, and County Sports, Haverfordwest.

Such was the response to the competition, in terms of quantity and quality, the group hope to make this an annual event.
