International Women’s Day Event

UNiTE to End Violence against Women

Toy Donation to Salvation Army
Members purchased toys to donate to the Salvation Army to provide Christmas presents for disadvantaged children in the Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes areas.
Household Goods Sale
In November we joined other stallholders at a ‘Car Boot Sale’ in Milton of Balgonie which, thankfully, was held inside the Community Hall. There weren’t as many customers as we would have liked but fellow stall holders purchasing items made it worthwhile. We donated the
16 Days of Activism
We bought a roll of orange ribbon and a number of members took a length and displayed the ribbons outside their homes, usually with a poster printed from the SIGBI resources. The orange signifies ‘hope’ within the UN’s 16 Days of Activism to end Violence
Fashion Show for Leading Change Uganda
The club held a fashion show in Mackays store in Glenrothes in September 2022. Some of our members and their family were models, as well as some of the shop assistants and their families. The evening was very successful and raised almost £800 for the
Platinum Platters
Jenny held a Platinum Jubilee event at her house in July, which she called Platinum Platters. Jenny made a range of canapes, as well as a Jubilee Trifle, and members and friends had a wonderful afternoon soaking up the sun in Jenny’s garden.
Kiltwalk for Mary’s Meals
On Sunday 24 April Kirkcaldy Soroptimist Maureen Collison took part in the Big Stroll from Clydebank to Balloch (14.4 miles), part of the Glasgow Kiltwalk, with her friend Jenifer McFarlane, a Paisley Soroptimist and a Mary’s Meals Volunteer. They both raised money for Mary’s Meals
