95 Years and Counting! 95th Charter Lunch

SIGL celebrated 95 years since the club’s founding in June – the oldest club outside of the United States! A fantastic lunch, including a glass of “Prohibition Punch” (a nod to the 1920s USA) was enjoyed by all, as was a variety of entertainment and speakers. Regional Secretary Rita and Federation Councillor Pauline spoke about two fantastic programmes supported by SIGL – the aptly named RITA (Reminiscence Interactive Therapy and Activities) programme which helps to battle dementia; and the Yarl’s Wood Befrienders respectively.

Long services awards were also presented to our longest serving members as we enjoyed a gorgeously decorated cake, complete with our insignia and 95th logo. We ended the day with a raffle, the proceeds of which will benefit President Doltice’s charity Young Minds.
