30 July is United Nations World Day against Trafficking in Persons, established to raise awareness of the plight of human trafficking victims and promote and protect their rights.

Over recent weeks, Jane Barnes from SI Medway and Maidstone has been busy knitting 120 mask extenders.These mask extenders are useful when wearing face masks or face coverings for prolonged periods as they can alleviate painful rubbing and pressure around the back of the ear.

The Kori Development Project (UK registered charity 1158663) works to educate, empower and improve the health of women and girls in Taiama, in the KORI district of Sierra Leone.

Our own Carol Infanti – Assistant Programme Director was asked to contribute an a article for SparkBlue, which is a Community Engagement Platform for UN agencies. She was asked to contribute on ‘Role of women in post-conflict economic decision making’. A copy of the report can be found here

Today on 22 June 2020, Kent Association for the Blind (KAB) is celebrating their Centenary event to mark the 100 years of service they have given to supporting sight impaired people to live independent lives in and around Kent since 1920.
