At the beginning of August, we saw a posting from SATEDA, local domestic abuse support service. As part of their Sharewear scheme, they were having a Rucksack Roundup, with the aim of collecting 25 rucksacks by 25 August.
A group of 15 members and friends of SI Medway and Maidstone visited the Medway SIM Suite at Canterbury Christ Church University on 13 August for a talk and tour.

As a club, SI Medway and Maidstone have been working on the Love Me..Love Me Not..(LMLMN) project. We have been keen to develop the project further with school age children.
Our Medway and Maidstone Soroptimist team of 8 took part in today’s Cancer UK 5k Race for Life at Mote Park, Maidstone. We were doing it in memory of our dear friend Liz Duckworth who we lost to cancer in February. We were pleased to be joined by Liz’s daughter Rebecca. So far we have raised over £2.5k including gift aid for this worthwhile cause that affects so many of us. It is not too late if you still want to donate to our team. Here is the link:
A second Mmeory Walk was held on 31 May around St Mary’s Island led by Jenny Jones.
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, a striking installation of 11,000 handcrafted poppies are needed.
Seven members of SI Medway and Maidstone led by Jenny Jones enjoyed a Memory Walk around St Mary’s Island, Chatham this month.
Medway and Maidstone Soroptimists were asked to volunteer this year at the Dandelion TIme May Fayre on 10 May.
