The plight of pregnant women in prison
SI Middlesbrough members have expressed deep concern about pregnant women being imprisoned, some without proper health care. Many are the victims of abuse already. They deserve care and rehabilitation.
Learning about Afghanistan
We had a lovely, informal meeting yesterday, with a light supper. Our speaker Hamida had so much to tell us about Afghanistan and how, historically, it has got into the present situation. Very informative.
International Day of Peace
We are marking International Day of Peace today with an informal talk from a local woman originally from Afghanistan. She will tell us about her country and the plight of those from Afghanistan who are currently refugees.
