Bilston & District

90 for 90 activities to celebrate the SIGBI 90th Anniversary

Supporting Alz Cafe (dementia) with monetary donations and by members helping at meetings with their craft activities

Chameleon Buddies – raising funds to support work being done with stoma bags in UK and Kenya
Cannock & District
- Rotary Books4Home – providing gifts of books for children who don’t have them at home – collecting from the community
- Environmental projects e.g. collecting bras to be recycled and raising money for breast cancer research, meat & fish free days
- West Hill Readers – group go into this primary school on a weekly basis for reading sessions with children in Y1, Y2 and Y3
- Support for a local food bank – donation of food as well as clothes especially over the winter months
- Support Staffordshire Women’s Aid and The Pathway Project by making items such as Christmas decorations and ‘owls’ with hidden helpline number
- Attending a local High School to carry out Mock Interviews with Y11 students
- Gifts of gratitude – posies given out as act of friendship in July and gifts given to the midwives and health care assistants at the local maternity unit at Christmas to thank them for the care they have given the women of our region
- Ukrainian refugees – helping to integrate the refugees by holding coffee mornings and parties at Christmas and Easter as well as providing practical support when they get their own housing by sourcing furniture and household items
Lichfield & District
- STEM projects for Infant/Junior school-aged children to help prevent “genderisation” of career roles
- Women’s safety projects including Healthy Relationships training for young men & women via sports and social clubs
- Community Gardening Projects and Litter Picking across our district
- Sewing Bee creating dresses, jumpers/vests, school bags, sanitary protection and Days For Girls Packs in UK and internationally
- Orange Day Cafes promoting Soroptimism and highlighting Women’s Safety issues
- Raising funds for women’s health charities; Les Amis Burkina Faso and other charities
- Language and social support for local Afghan and Ukrainian refugees
- Support for our local food bank
- Support for local refuges and women’s services e.g. Christmas gift bags and supporting a local children’s centre and Vysions: services for children & young people
North Staffs
- Orchid Women’s Services Project – Donating clothes, shoes or toiletries to homeless women
- GLOW – Providing basic cleaning materials for ladies once they move out from the refuges
- Change the World One Girl at a Time – Our International project – Sponsoring a young girl in Gambia to continue with her education
- International Women’s Day – Preparing an exhibition about ‘Forgotten Women of Staffordshire” on International Women’s Day
- HMP Drake Hall in the Visitor Centre (3 days/week) – Supporting SI Stafford to prepare teas and coffees for the visitors while they are waiting
Stafford
- Toilet Twinning – having achieved Toilet Twin Status for Stafford in 2023 we continue to collect donations towards more twinned toilets – 110 toilets provided to date (December 2024).
- Support for families of prisoners in HMP Drake Hall Women’s prison in the Visitor Centre (4 sessions a week – 662 hours during 2024); provision of materials & wool for craft sessions; provision of food, warm coats and shoes (100 pairs) for the women as they leave prison; donations towards Christmas gifts for children of prisoners (£470 in 2024).
- Helping students with reading difficulties in a local High School covering an area of high deprivation, offering a Book Club and small group sessions on a weekly basis.
- Microfinancing account via Lend with Care set up and actively investing/reinvesting in projects benefitting women & girls. In the Club Year 2023-4 we made 42 loans, total value £1635. We also raised £385 for Lendwithcare to cover their operational costs.
- 1400+ good quality bras collected to send to Uganda (ongoing)
Sutton Coldfield
- Orange Postbox toppers across Sutton in recognition of the 16 days of Activism to Elimination Violence against Women And Girls
- Monthly Orange cafes to raise awareness of VAWG and promote membership
- Working with the Purple Community Fund in the Philippines
- Annual chocolate raid at our local Princess Alice Tesco store for all the children at our local domestic violence refuge
- Cancer Support Coffee Morning
- Support for our local food bank
- Recycling to raise funds for our local Domestic Violence Unit
Tamworth
- Staffing a telephone support line providing a weekly befriending call for local people experiencing loneliness
- Human Rights Day “frugal” lunch to raise finds for the Soroptimist International Foundation
- Shopping Mall display for the 16 Days of Activism (Against VAWG)
- Shopping Mall tombola stall to raise funds for Breast Cancer UK

Worked in conjunction with Jennifer Ann Hairdressers & Ankerside Shopping Centre to provide free hair cuts to raise charity funds for local charities.

Wolverhampton
- #pinkparty to raise awareness of breast cancer and raise funds for Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer
- Monthly Wellbeing Walk – Regular friendship walk, coffee and chat
- 90 for 90 Cocktails
- Donating to our local foodbank The Well
- Supporting PeriodsMatter
- Race for Life at Himley Hall, Staffordshire where we surpassed our fundraising target
- Donating to Simple acts of Kindness to help them continue their work supporting vulnerable families in Wolverhampton with essential household items
The Wrekin
- Sabrina down the Severn – mapping the wildlife, pollution, littering and health of the River Severn from source to sea
- School Visits Talk and activities – harm litter does to wildlife and the rivers
- Eco stalls raising funds and awareness of environmental issues. Children’s activities. 90 tomato plants sold for 90/90
- When Love Bites – 63 books distributed to local secondary schools, libraries and youth services
- Christmas gift bags – Collection and distribution of gift bags filled with toiletries to local women in crisis – aiming for 300+ bags.
- White Ribbon Day conference: An update from our police DV unit. An interactive workshop with Right Path – Misogyny- how social media and online pornography is affecting young people and attitudes towards sexual relationships
- Rosie’s Plaques. – a Blue plaque to recognise Toy maker Norah Wellings, who founded Victoria Toys Wellington
- Craft Group – knitting hats for gift bags, squares for Hamlin Fistula blankets UK and Breast protheses
