In January at our first meeting of 2022 we were able to meet in person and it was lovely to see so many of our members. We also welcomed our charities MK Act, YMCA MK and the Winter Night Shelter, along. It was there opportunity to tell us about the year they have just experienced, what challenges they had faced, what do they expect the future challenges to be and to get some ideas from them on how we can help them. It was a very interesting evening and we will be taking away the ideas our charities mentioned and discussing them at our Annual Planning event, this year to be held on February 12, where our members will get together to look at what big project we can develop for 2022-23.
It was a lovely evening and all 3 charities said how grateful their users had been with the help we were able to give.
Our meeting also gave us the opportunity to thank our charities for all their hard work. Each year we start off with giving each charity a cheque for £100 and this year we also gave one of our “Clean Start buckets” for those residents about to make a new start in life. We hope to be able to give more support through out the year, both financially and through other ways to our charities and the valuable work they do in our Milton Keynes community.
