We have decided to make an annual award in the form of vouchers, to a female pupil from Hartford High School.The first recipient , chosen by the school, was Pearls Eddo, a refugee who has made outstanding progress and is now regarded as a role model for other pupils. The award was made for ‘Overcoming major challenges in Life’
Pearls received her award at the annual prizegiving evening, and members Jill Bebbington, Penny Clarke, and Ruth Stanley attended to represent the Club. Ruth is also a Governor at the school, and was instrumental in setting up the scheme, and forging the link with S.I Northwich.At the event, the Deputy Head spoke warmly and at considerable length, about Soroptimism, and what it represents
We hope that this relationship will go from strength to strength, and that possibly Pearls could be invited to speak to our members , if it can be arranged.
