Our President is Dr Judith Flower
“I spent my early years in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, before going to London University to study medicine at Kings College Medical School. After graduation, I specialised in paediatrics.
On marriage, I moved to Bolton, and while raising my children, I worked part time in Community child health, and family planning. Later I was appointed Consultant Paediatrician in Community Child Healthcare for the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust, with a special interest in children with disabilities, and child protection
I moved to Northwich in 2003 prior to retirement, to be closer to my daughter, son and four grandchildren. In 2010 I became a Soroptimist. My other activities include playing golf, dog walking, singing and acting as a steward at Davenham Methodist Church.
During my Presidential year, I intend to promote the aims of Soroptimism, and to continue to raise money for both local charities and Soroptimist projects overseas. My chosen charity is the Joshua Tree, a local charity which aims to support families who have a child with cancer, and help them cope with this life changing experience by providing accommodation in peaceful surroundings.”
