Soroptimist Runcorn Frodsham & District donate £1000 to Halton Haven Hospice.
Soroptimists Runcorn Frodsham & District have been running a ‘Teddy Tombola’ stall at the ‘Festival in the Park’ Frodsham since 2009, raising funds for our local Hospice Halton Haven. The Festival is staged by partners ‘Rotary in Frodsham & Helsby’ as part of the community voluntary sector for the Festival.
Throughout the year all club members collect Teddies and Soft toys for the Teddy Tombola Event, these are washed ready for the stall – pictured here Teddies hanging out to dry. Members of the club man the stall throughout the day.
Children particularly enjoy our stall as ‘Every child is a winner”and they certainly come back again each year. Our members say: “the expressions of wonder and love on the children’s faces stay with you as they leave hugging their new friend” – just one of the many reasons why the club has supported this event for the last 16 years.
This year, one little girl won a furry Rabbit – she hugged her Rabbit and said ‘Look Mummy it’s dressed like me’ – they both had blonde hair and were dressed in peach.
Team leader Larraine, Clare and Pat say ‘Children love our stall and families come year after year to support us, and win a ‘furry friend’.
This year we were able to raise £210 at our ‘Teddy Tombola Stall’ and Soroptimist Runcorn Frodsham & District club have made it upto £1000 from our Fundraising account and donated to Halton Haven Hospice – Thanks to our friends for supporting all our events.
Halton Haven Hospice enables men and women who need palliative care, to be looked after near their families.
