Operation Stella is a Programme Action (PA) on Facebook and Twitter. It is joint PA – SI Scarborough with SI Halifax. Operation Stella was set up in 2015 after the SIGBI Glasgow Conference to highlight Domestic Abuse Against Women, particularly Coercive Control. It used the storyline from the BBC radio series, ‘The Archers’ to highlight the work of SIGBI clubs in the area of Domestic Abuse. It also publishes articles and news items that are relevant to the subject. At the SIGBI Liverpool Conference 2018, the Programme Action won a Nomination for Best Practice Award in the Violence and Conflict Category. From November 25th 2018, it has been posting everyday, supporting the UN 16 Days of Activism Against Violence Against Women and Orange the World.
