Proposed New Club:
29 05 2019 For some time a number of Soroptimists in the south of Scotland have been working together to establish a club in the area.
Number of Meetings held:
They have held a number of meetings and drop in sessions. They are now working with a small group of ladies interested in making a difference to the lives of women and girls locally, also nationally and globally.
Flexible Format:
The new Club will have a flexible format decided on by the members, meeting as and when it suits them. They may meet in several small clusters given the geography of the area. Interested women will have the opportunity to meet other like minded women and make new friends. They will have the opportunity get involved in projects, practical action and advocacy. All activities which will make a difference to the lives of women and girls.
Support from Existing Clubs in Scotland South Region:
There are already ten Soroptimist clubs which form Scotland South Region, so there is a lot of support available for this new club. The existing clubs work on similar projects and meet together quarterly, to share information, ideas and support.
Although we are not able to meet together at the moment, the ladies have been keeping in contact electronically and are thinking about how they might want to get involved.

28 08 2018 Proposed New Club in Dumfries and Galloway
We have been working to establish a new Club in the Dumfries and Galloway area. This new style Club will be flexible and will meet at venues and times chosen by Club members. It will provide an opportunity to meet like minded women and make new friends. Ladies who join will make a difference for women and girls locally and world wide.
Steps taken so far:
We have held a number of open meetings and drop in sessions, more recently meeting in a coffee shop on a Saturday morning with a small group of ladies who have expressed an interest in getting involved.
When Established:
Once established Club members will be able to decide, how when and where they meet. They will also decide what project or projects they might want to work on. When unable to meet in person, they would be able to meet on-line.
Members can get involved at a level that suits them and their circumstances, interests and skills. Every woman has something she can bring to a Club.
