WELL, WHAT A conference! – there was record representation of 34 attending from our region. We were all encouraged and enthused by the programme as a whole and the individual speakers in particular.
Members from eight different clubs in the region enjoyed the informal supper on Friday when we were pleased to
welcome guests from SI Harrogate and SI Winchester. What’s more Pat Dale had invited Arif Zaman Executive Director, Commonwealth Businesswomen’s Network to join us. It was so interesting to talk with him.
In her inaugural speech, new SIGBI President Ruth Healey threw out two challenges to commemorate next year’s
celebration of 90 years of SIGBI:
1. Do 90 things in the year
2. Increase your club membership by one
An important part of the proceedings was the Change of Insignia with President Cathy Cottridge when President Lynne handed over the Change of office to President Alison.
Well done to President Lynne on a successful year and good luck to President Alison for her year ahead.
