SI Hagen visits SI Poole

SI Poole has had a Friendship Link with SI Hagen (Germany) for 32 years, inspired by an SI Poole member, Jutta, who came from Hagen. It was thus with great pleasure that we welcomed eight members of SI Hagen to our Charter Dinner and Friendship weekend from October 8-12.  It was a packed programme, beginning with a Welcome Dinner on the Saturday evening, continuing with visits to Stonehenge and Bath on the Sunday, and to Salisbury on the Monday.

The 64th Charter Dinner of SI Poole was held on Monday 10th October at Poole Yacht Club.  There were 39 participants, including the Mayor of Poole, members of SI Hagen and another Friendship Link, SI Plymouth, as well as members of SI Poole. Three new SI Poole members were inducted at the Charter Dinner.

On the Wednesday morning we accompanied our guests to Poole Quay to show them the defibrillators donated by SI Poole in April 2015.

The weather was on our side and we all agreed that ‘The sun always shines on the Soroptimists’. We waved goodbye to our German guests on Wednesday afternoon, and hope to meet up with them again soon!
