SI Poole Knitting Group

Knitting_22November2016
SI Poole knitting group hard at work – and celebrating the birthday of of one of our members!

The SI Poole knitting group was set up to provide baby hats and blankets for the children of Nepal after the terrible earthquakes of 2015.

To date, with help from SI Bournemouth, SI Winchester, friends and other interested individuals, we have posted 250 baby hats, 36 hat and pullover sets, 7 blankets and 9 sets of bootees to SI Kathmandu, with whom we have a Friendship Link.  In addition we have provided 12 baby hats to Poole Hospital, 6 large blankets to the Calais Jungle, and 32 baby hats, 6 pullovers and 3 pairs of bootees to SI Thames Valley for their Kori project in Sierra Leone.

SI Thames Valley kindly helped us to staff a Purple Teardrop stand at an event in High Wycombe during October.  To thank them for their great support, we will meet up with several of their members for lunch on December 17th and will hand over a further donation of items for their Kori project. Inter-Club cooperation is alive and well!  Watch this space for further news!
