Weekend in Cirencester

Seven club members travelled to Cirencester on 7/8/9 September to attend the Friendship Weekend hosted by SI Cirencester. The weekend included a reception on Friday evening at the Bingham Gallery, the Region Annual General Meeting on Saturday followed by a Conference.  The Speaker for the day was Professor Chris Gaskell, his subject The challenge of sustainability food supply and the role of women. The meetings were held in the wonderfully historic surrundings of the Royal Agricultural College. Members from all over the Region were present and many stayed on to join SI Cirencester in Dinner at the College. Federation President Maureen Maguire paid a flying visit, courtesy of a fast car, taking the evening off from a Federation Management Board meeting in London to join us. On Sunday morning the club organised a Town Walk. The photograph shows Region President Shirley in the Quad with those  women who had been Club Presidents  during her term of office.
