Elizabeth Millard Bursary and Andrew Flint Bursary

Elizabeth Millard 2nd club president

The Elizabeth Millard Bursary funds are raised by Past Presidents of the club in memory of our second club President. We have awarded 36 bursaries since it was set up in 1987 our 10th Anniversary year. Initially it was for women and girls studying male orientated careers e.g. science and engineering. The immediate Past President chairs the committee and presents the Award.

The Andrew Flint Bursary was set up in 2019 from a very generous bequest from a local man, a friend of Sorptimist Libby’s, who admired what we do. It is to be used to encourage girls into STEM i.e. Science, Engineering, Technology and Maths. We have awarded educational Bursaries and supported  girls teams in the First LEGO League Challenge.
