Who We Are
Soroptimist International is a vibrant, dynamic organisation for today’s women. We are committed to a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong, peaceful communities worldwide.
Soroptimists inspire action and create opportunities to transform the lives of women and girls through a global network of members and international partnerships.
Your local club in St Austell/Cornwall
As the only club in Cornwall at present, we’re a group of like minded ladies who meet to work together to support Women & Girls across Cornwall, the UK and internationally. Based in St Austell we have members from all over the county who come together once a month for the more structured meetings held at Porthpean Golf Club at 7.30 pm and social gatherings every few weeks at various venues.
The club started in 1977, we have 4 founder members remaining, and a current membership of 39 from all walks of life and ages, who bring their passion and experience to a range of projects that help Women & Girls.
The club meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month. We are very welcoming to new members who want to get involved and encourage any potential new members to have an informal chat with our friendly membership secretary.
We have Friendship Links with 4 other Soroptimist Clubs SI Lannion France, SI Gjakova Kosovo, SI North Canterbury New Zealand & SI Barossa Valley Australia.
