Teesside Hospice

Afternoon Tea   In September members were finally able to meet up for another fund raiser. Afternoon tea in a member’s garden raised  over £600 for Teesside Hospice. Our president, Chris, is a volunteer and has chosen this as her charity for the year.

Regional President Charity

Regional President Charity One member, Joyce Chesney, had to cancel a fund raising afternoon tea during her year as regional president. A recent regional raffle enabled her to present a cheque for £600 to Butterwick Hospice Care on behalf of Stockton on Tees and the Northern

Food Bank

Stockton and Billingham Food Bank Pre-pandemic we regularly supplied sanitary items to the food bank. Currently, every two months, the club donates non-perishable food items, toiletries, cleaning products, sanitary items. We have also supplied clothing or bedding in good condition. The demand on the food bank

Rainbow Room

The Rainbow Room was set up at our local NHS trust hospital. It is a room where staff can take a break and relax. Every two months we provide “luxury” items such as toiletries, speciality teas and coffees, chocolates and biscuits.

Little Sprouts

President Sue has kept busy during the pandemic supplying a local charity Little Sprouts with food items donated by members or purchased with money provided by members.

Rainbow Room

We have provided items for the Rainbow Room at North Tees hospital. This room is for staff to relax and recharge and we have provided speciality teas, coffee, hot chocolate, sweets and some toiletries. We will be restocking every 6 weeks.

End Period Poverty

Club members collected 100 items of sanitary protection as part of our centenary celebration. These were passed to Stockton and Billingham food bank to help end period poverty.

New Start Bags

We have now provided over 70 Bags ( 25 directly from members and friends, 33 from the first lot of funding and 15 from this round with more still to do). Plus 10 toilet bags. The funding has been provided by the Commissioner for Cleveland

Summer garden party in aid of Ocular Cancer

Finally in September 2020 we were able to meet up in President Sue’s garden for a lovely tea and plenty of chat. A refreshing change from Zoom!  £175 was raised for the Ocular Cancer charity. Enjoying tea in President Sue’s garden Talking face to face!

50 years as a SI Stockton member

At the Club’s AGM on 8 April Members celebrated Lilian Lloyd’s 50 years of club membership with a presentation to be followed by afternoon tea on 22 May.  Congratulations!
