SI Sunderland is one of 12 clubs in Northern England. We were chartered in 1938, 10 years after the Representation of People Act when women received the vote on the same terms as men and one year before the outbreak of the Second World War.
The visionary women who were our founder members began a story of service in the local community and beyond which continues today. Our Programme Action work has been very effective over the last 82 years. As a group, we help to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable people, especially women and girls, locally, nationally, and internationally.
We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at the Grand Hotel in Sunderland (formerly the Marriott). Fun, friendship and service are important to our club and its members.

Let us enjoy the journey together and continue to make a difference in the lives of women and girls.
