Welcoming us to the 88th Federation Conference at the ICC Belfast, Thursdays friendship evening was kicked off with a guest appearance by Down cathedral choir arranged as a surprise for President Cathy Cottridge. With moving arrangements of ‘Danny Boy’ and ‘Rose of Tralee’ the audience were impressed with the range of vocals from the performers who were rewarded with a generous round of applause.

Taking the energy levels up a notch, the next act on to the stage was Celtic Storm. These captivating and energetic dancers stormed the stage with their brilliantly executed mix of contemporary and traditional Irish dancing.

The rousing music complimented the intricate choreography and brought many audience members to their feet to join in with a dance or two.

Ample breaks provided opportunities for attendees to mingle and catch up.

The evening has set the scene for the fun and friendship that Soroptimists have to come to expect from a federation conference and we eagerly look forward to the rest of conference programme.
