What a wonderful day out for Soroptimist Bristol on 27th August! It was unadulterated joy from beginning to finish.
Ruth planned a trip to the Watermill Theatre near Newbury for us all to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, with lunch beforehand.
This was a full musical production, featuring all of the elements of the story that we know and love, including a Childcatcher who is committed to their purpose!
The theatre grounds and adjoining river are beautiful, and we were fortunate that the weather was good because, part way through the performance, we were moved to a large circus tent in the garden where the show continued for a few minutes before returning to the main theatre. We had a great time, and the production was fantastic.
