ANNE AINSWORTH APPEAL
Members of Soroptimist International of Cambridge were deeply saddened by the loss of Anne Ainsworth, who died on 10th February 2022. She was a Soroptimist for nearly 50 years and our President four times, International Treasurer and an honorary member of the Federation.
Her knowledge of, and devotion to Soroptimism was legendary as was her kindness as a friend.
SI Cambridge members will miss her in this, our 75th Anniversary year.
It was Anne’s wish to offer a once in a lifetime opportunity to an aspiring accountant from a developing country- to undertake a work placement within a leading accountancy firm in the UK, and to that end an appeal has been set up in Anne’s memory.

Welcome to SI Cambridge
Soroptimist International of Cambridge has been making a difference to the lives of women and girls locally, nationally and internationally since 1947 through education, empowerment and leadership projects.
What do we do?
Have a look at our projects , catch up on our latest news , or check the club diary to see what’s coming up.
Our work for Soroptimist International is really helped by SI having consultative status at the United Nations being recognised as a Non-Governmental Organisation representing women from all over the world.
Internationally we have campaigned for the abolition of landmines and cluster bombs, raised £1 million to help women in Sierra Leone restore their lives and families after 20 years of civil war, and provided fresh water and sanitation for schools in Africa.
Who are we?
We have members from in and around the city, including Cambridge, Huntingdon, Ely and Saffron Walden. We meet twice a month at the Meadows Community Centre in Cambridge and welcome friends and visitors to any meeting.
So browse through our website. If you like what you see, and would like to know more, just get in touch.
We’ll welcome your enquiry in the customary Soroptimist way – in friendship.
