Report to Parliamentary Committee has been published

In September 2017 S.I.Durham members responded to a request by the House of Lords Select Committee on Citizenship and Civic Engagement giving our views on what citizenship and being an active citizen meant to us. This included our views on British Society and how it is changing in the 21st century, what it means to be British and how we can promote equal opportunities and cultural diversity within the projects which we take part in. It also outlines our thoughts on citizenship in education, the ways in which society can support civic engagement and the values which we share as British citizens. Our discussions enabled Vyvyenne Mack, one of our members to write up a very detailed report and submit it to the committee.  We are delighted to hear that it has been published.  If you would like to read the full report please go to: http://data.parliament.uk/writtenevidence/committeeevidence.svc/evidencedocument/citizenship-and-civic-engagement-committee/citizenship-and-civic-engagement/written/69581.html
