Following two inspirational days in Glasgow, the conference draws to a spectacular close at the Clyde Auditorium.
Federation President Jenny delivered her final address reviewing the success of the last twelve months with her own highlight being the 7 new clubs that were chartered in that time. The Federation Management Board and incoming president Margaret Emsley were installed and insignia exchanged as all of the new officers were welcomed to the stage followed by the new Presidents for all of the regions.
Waving the red rose of Lancashire, President Margaret’s inaugural address reflected on a truly successful conference as she urged all members to “move outside their comfort zone” and “help to engineer the future”, a key theme of her presidency as she expressed the wish that all clubs will get involved with a STEM project this year.
As the curtains closed and a lone piper played, Hannah Raffan handed over the conference flag to Malta ready for next year’s conference.
The evening ended with Rebecca Vince enthralling the audience with her beautiful solo performance “singing to the seals”. More inspiration followed as the Glasgow Phoenix Choir sang to “raise us up” and unite and close the conference in great style.
