International Women’s Day March 2020
Soroptimists from Hamilton attended South Lanarkshire Council’s Event in the Town House Hamilton on Friday 6th March, 2020. Speakers from Women’s Aid, Rape Crisis and Fair Trade joined both local councillors and MSPs Christina McKelvie and Monica Lennon. Talks were thought provoking and interesting on the challenges that women face in 2020. All ages attended including senior school girls. A sketch at the end of the afternoon by Naomi Breeze Productions was ‘very true to life’ taken from statements given by women who had suffered abuse. A photo opportunity at the end shows support for equality.
