Good Tea, Coffee & Baking served by friendly helpful staff. The Hospice building is a bright airy building with lots of glass, and beautiful gardens. Our latest Cafe Visit was enjoyable. We left some info leaflets with the reception staff . We also saw the tile we donated when the footpaths were being constructed.
Our 2nd Orange Cafe Visit for 25th April was at The Big Coffee Cup in Coatbridge. A warm welcome was received and the owner took one of our cards explaining the background of our Orange the World campaign. We were given a free Carrot Cup Cake each. A lovely afternoon for all.
Invite from South Lanarkshire Gender Based Violence Partnership International Women’s Day Event on 8th March 2023 in the Council Banqueting Hall in Almada Street Hamilton. Our ‘full’ table of Soroptimist leaflets etc. including Purple Teardrop bookmarks and badges was empty at the end of the event. Speakers from Women’s Aid, Rape Crisis and NHS provided a wealth of information about services for Women and the challenges these groups have, mainly funding.
S.I. Hamilton has supported Fair Trade for many years and have taken part in promoting Fairtrade goods e.g. selling rice to our Federation delegates at our conference in Glasgow.
Every couple of months a new ‘what we have achieved’ or ‘to do list’ is circulated to members keeping them up to date with club activities.
