Women Alive – IWD 2020

Soroptimist International of King’s Lynn on Sunday 8 March, International Women’s Day held a celebration for the day focusing on women’s health and wellbeing. The event was held at St Nicholas’ Chapel, King’s Lynn with an array of stands and workshops.

Julie William’s Programme Action Officer said: “we had a great day celebrating International Women’s Day and thank everyone who came along and made the day such a success. The smoothie bike was very popular with the fruit and vegetables kindly donated by Fruit&Veg2U. Oli from Barefoot came along for the armchair yoga, which was a lot more strenuous than expected for some of us. In the afternoon Tina from Jaya Dance joined us for a very fun afternoon trying to teach us Bollywood dancing. We hope the day gave everyone who visited us a boost for their wellbeing, as much as it did for club members.”

The stalls included yoga, relaxation and local information groups as well as other organisations and ethical products. Pippa’s Pantry was on hand to provide the refreshments for the day and we were pleased to see so many new faces.
The theme for the International Women’s Day 2020 was an equal world is an enabled world, with members supporting the theme with the Each for equal pose.
