Nepal – major project – now built and in use!

SI Leeds is delighted to have supported the construction of a building for the Jitpurphedi Women’s Agricultural Co-operative which already brings together over 800 women to help them with growing and selling of agricultural produce and to provide microcredit among themselves, education and practical classes.  We have provided a major contribution to the funding, and the project was undertaken in conjunction with VIN on the ground and with some help from members of SI Kathmandu who work on other projects in the area. The building provides space for a shop, stores, meeting places and offices.  We look forward to hearing of future progress after some Leeds club members were able to visit during construction and for the official opening.
