In November Medway Food Bank launched their Reverse Advent Calendar. Medway and Maidstone Soroptimists are long term supporters of Food Banks.
Members were asked if they wished to take part and two members agreed to do the shopping using the list on the Reverse Advent Calendar. Buying an item or more for each of the 24 days of the calendar, and then donate them all towards the end of November.
The Medway Food Bank need our support as services and demands continue to be very high. The recognise that things are tough financially for many people this winter. Items donated will be used well into 2026 so long as ‘best before dates’ are good – although it would be lovely to be able to bring some Christmas cheer with some Christmas related treats.
Donations of £60 were received from members to do shopping and two crates full of listed items including some Christmas related treats were delivered to Medway Food Bank in time for Christmas deliveries.
