Soroptimist International is represented in Women’s Forum Northern Ireland. The Forum is formed by representatives of numerous women’s organisations in Northern Ireland which collectively have a membership of 100,000 women. The Forum was originally formed to contribute and to represent women in the peace process. It is an apolitical and anti-sectarian voluntary with the Mission Statement: “Women in Harmony – Achieving Change”.
It continues to fulfil a role in consultation on proposed legislation and government policy. Policies are considered and feedback given with the intend to enhance the role and influence of women in decision making.
The Forum meets each month with delegates from various women’s group, including Soroptimists and individual members in attendance.
