We are very pleased to announce that we have recently agreed to sponsor a team at our local football club. Ramsbottom United FC have formed a new team – Under 7s girls and their coach, Alan Keane, put out a request on Facebook looking for someone to sponsor them to enable them to purchase kit and training tops. We responded by offering to pay for all their requirements! We have our name blazoned across the front of the shirts as well as on the back of the training tops. The pictures shows the girls wearing the kit at a recent training session, Alan Keane. their coach and several members of our club. We even got an article in our local newspaper, the Bury Times. We have also donated an annual award for the most improved player and this year’s proud winner Lilli,  is pictured with

She told us of the care given to premature babies and showed us the tiny clothes, nappies etc which they use on the unit. Some of our members, and relatives, have been knitting blankets for the Unit and members  Margaret Cotton and Barbara Lord are pictured here with Claire with some of the blankets.

We  have been hard at work making Twiddlemuffs and Fiddlequilts for local Nursing Homes to assist people with dementia. The picture shows Maureen Sampson, Ramsbottom member, and the Manager of Walshaw Nursing Home with two of the quilts made by members. At the club’s enjoyable and productive sewing mornings members have also made sanitary products for girls in Africa.
