11/07/25 Culture day at King Edwards School.

Heather; Mums in Need Chair of Trustees;  joined President Daphne and Sue at King Edward’s School raising an additional £165.00 for Mums in Need.

17/06/25 Social Evening, Toni Garnett’s Story.

Wendy read Toni Garnett’s emotive story of suffering childhood grooming and rape as, due to illness, Toni herself could not be present. Thanks to Wendy for organising such a thought-provoking talk.
Yorkshire members Pat, Avis and Judith were welcome additions to the company.

£146.42 Raised for Mums in Need

Our Share Our Skills girls a held successful  ‘Bun Sale’ in the Arts department at King Edward’s School. The food offerings were augmented by a gift tree also toiletries, jewellery and make-up passed on from the Spring Fayre.

Congratulations to the organisers and thanks to both those who donated and those who spent.

25/04/25 Spring Fayre at Broomhall Centre.

The KES/Share Our Skills girls efficiently organised all stages our Spring Fayre. Stalls displayed an attractive selection (books, children’s clothes, jewellery, make up and toys) together with a gift tree, face painting, crochet, and children’s colouring. The popular coffee offered a tempting selection of goodies with our ‘barrista’ serving specialist coffees to order. At the end of the Fayre the girls cheerfully cleared up – even mopping the kitchen floor. Thanks to those who provided goods, goodies; especially home baking; and worked to make the event a success.

27/11/24 Bake Sale at King Edward’s School

Many congratulation to the Share our Skills girls from KES who organised a very successful Bake Sale making £389.80. Thanks to all those who donated sweet and savoury goodies whether baked or bought.
Winn Gardens were delighted to have unsold items with their coffee.

16/01/25 Farah’s Masala Night

Congratulations to Farah and friends for another successful Masala night; delicious food and good company have made this one of the year’s most memorable events.

£931. Raised to rebuilding a school in Karachi.

28/09/24 Dearne Big Band Concert 

£505.00 raised for Mums in Need.

Regardless of limited numbers the Dearne Big Band Concert at Birkdale School proved a success. Several of the attendees sent messages of appreciation for such an enjoyable performance.

Thanks, and congratulations to the organisers, Hilary, Daphne and Sue; with Jackie, Toni, and Linda who ran the raffle.

10/07/24 Fund raising at King Edward’s School

Our ‘Share our Skills’ girls were instrumental in organising a successful Bun Sale at King Edward’s Lower School. £117.80 was raised for Mums in Need.
Congratulations to them and thanks to those who donated items to sell and those who bought.

06/07/24 Sharrow Festival

Daphne, Eva with one of our Share our Skills girls from King Edwards School pitched in to help on the Mums in Need stall at Sharrow Festival.
A rewarding experience, not only raising money for MINS by selling donated items – thanks to all the donors (especially Tesco) for their generosity but being able to raise the profile of both MINS and Soroptimists. Useful contacts were made along with several productive chats.

06/12/23 KES girls’ Bun Sale.

07/12/23 Remaining items were donated to Winn Gardens Food Bank.

Unsold cakes, etc from the coffee morning were added to the ‘Bun Sale’ goodies . Another £149.63 to MINS. Great work by the girls. N.B Our Sue Sheriff won the Bear’s Name competition.

05/12/23 Daphne kindly hosted a ‘Coffee and Cake Morning in aid of MINS.

The fund-raising – delicious cakes, biscuits etc were complemented by ‘What Women Want’ , ‘the card lady’, Jackie’s tree, a raffle, and Guess the Bear’s name; in total raising the grand sum of £508.
Thanks and congratulations to who baked goods, made coffee, ran stalls and all those who gave so generously,

20/11/23 Lost Chord Concert at Prior Bank Home

SI Sheffield were able sponsor a Lost Chord Concert at Prior Bank Nursing Home.The concert proved great fun, everyone was encouraged to sing – raising the roof!Lost Chord, a charity aims to improve wellbeing and quality of for those suffering dementia by musical interaction

Supporting MIN (Mums in Need)Congratulations to our three Share Our Skills (SOS) girls from King Edwards School (KES)

They successfully planned, publicised and organised a ‘bun sale’ at the school raising £138.00 Mums in Need. The items sold included their delicious mini lollies.
