Upcoming Event, 18/04/23 Supper and talk on18th April at Tapton Hall
On April 18th, at Tapton, Mary Holmes will give a talk on Elizabeth Wolstenholme-Enry “The fiesty Feminist” about whom she has written a book. Elizabeth Wolstenholme-Enry, a humanist, one of the most human rights and suffragette activists of her day is still relatively uncelebrated. She campaigned tirelessly for human rights with an emphasis on women; education and protection. Recognised as “the brains of the suffragette movement”. She became the first paid employee of the womens’ movement; to lobby parliament regarding relevant laws. Interested? Want to learn more.
